Scotty Powell is a meteorologist covering the Grand Strand, Pee Dee, and Southeastern North Carolina. His focus is simple: local weather explained in plain language, so you can plan your day, your beach trip, or your storm prep with confidence.
Scotty earned his education degree at Appalachian State University before completing his meteorology degree at Penn State. After working as a television meteorologist at WBTW, he launched his own digital platform to keep delivering forecasts, severe weather updates, and community coverage directly to his neighbors.
He also serves as a support meteorologist for Speedway Motorsports, and away from the forecast he is an avid golfer, NASCAR enthusiast, dog lover, and supporter of the coastal lifestyle.
